The Baldwin Orangery was a dream project for us, the beautiful architecture of the building was perfect for the addition of a contemporary hardwood orangery. The recess to the rear of the property left the idealic opening and we were able to tailor make the design fit perfectly.
Below you will see the stages as we progress through the build phase of the hardwood orangery.
The first stage is to create a watercolour artist's impression after discussing the orangery design in detail with our artist and sharing with him the proposed design plans and the secret garden.
Our brief was to install the orangery to the centre of the courtyard, you can clearly see this area in this photograph as the recess between the left and right side of the building.
Orangery construction is well under way in this image, with the main beams now in position. Now we focus on installing the high quality hardwood struts and window frames into position, before installing the roof and lantern.
The Orangery is now complete. Doesn't it look outstanding?
A view of the orangery lantern, glazed with blue tinted 'Pilkington Activ Self Cleaning Glass'. Note the open roof to the secret garden.
A view inside the secret garden, this area is actually outside allowing breathing room for the main tall window centre of the building which allows a view directly into the orangery as you descend the staircase inside the building.
Light cascades from the glazing into this beautiful hardwood orangery.
A classic view of 'The Orangery'.
